I'm sorry for your loss, Alan. May you find solace in your memories.

Hi Diane,

It's not my loss, but one of the janitors at Hull Central Library lost his sister, at a young age, to illness.

The janitor is a regular contributor to the Hull Global Renga, and I've been told he especially came in off compassionate to write a verse.

His verse included a lost jigsaw piece which I've honoured as part of my mark of respect to his loss.

I've been told he will be really pleased I've had a line from his verse included in my haiku, that's been published in a Japanese newspaper.

He started off writing heavy rhyming verses and then suddenly he started writing really moving 'renku' verses out of the blue.

all my best,

Alan
